Laurent CRONIER, 54 years old, is an Assistant professor (Exceptional class) in animal physiology at the University of Poitiers since 1996. His academic background corresponds to a PhD in Physiology in 1995 and the Accreditation to supervise research (HDR) in 2007 at the University of Poitiers. Nowadays, he is in charge of the Project “Connexins and metastatic evolution of Prostatic cancer” in the 4CS laboratory (CNRS UMR6041) and especially the implication of connexins and heterocellular communication in the migration of prostatic cancer cells and in the development of bone metastasis.
Laurent Cronier is co-author of 50 publications including 12 as first author and 10 as last author. During his career, he had the opportunity to supervise 5 PhD thesis and 11 Master2 students. He built several national and international collaborations through the co-management of research projects in the field of connexin and its involvement in placental development and bone remodeling under physiological or pathological conditions. For instance, he obtained grants from the French Committee for the Evaluation of University Cooperation with Brazil (COFECUB), the French Rheumatology Society (SFR) and recurring funding from the National Cancer League. Past member of the National Council of Universities (CNU) in the physiological section (6 years), he is also regularly called upon as an expert for HCERES (High Council for Research and Higher Education Evaluation) for training or research team evaluations.

On the teaching side, he was responsible for the Animal Physiology and Neurosciences course (2005-2012) then for the “Life Sciences” License (2012-2017) and is currently director of the Physiology Department. Concerning the technical aspects, L. Cronier is the holder of an authorization for animal experimentation (level 1, designer) since 2006 as well as a specialization in surgery since 2011. He is also a member of the technical and strategic council of the platform of university imagery (ImageUP platform), in particular in charge of in vivo imaging in small animals (fluorescence, luminescence and X-ray) since 2010.
